The Carolina Hurricanes are set to face the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, March 9, at 5:00 p.m. ET in Raleigh, North Carolina. The game will be broadcasted on FanDuel Sports Network South and can be listened to on 99.9 The Fan or the Hurricanes App.

The Hurricanes are aiming for their fourth consecutive win following a narrow victory over the Boston Bruins, where Seth Jarvis scored a decisive goal with just 18 seconds remaining. Pyotr Kochetkov's performance was notable with 32 saves. Sebastian Aho and Brent Burns also contributed goals in that match.

The upcoming game presents a challenge as the Jets lead the Western Conference with a record of 44-16-4 and have accumulated 92 points this season. They recently secured a significant win against the New Jersey Devils.

Carolina has introduced new players Logan Stankoven and Mark Jankowski to their roster before Friday's trade deadline. Stankoven is expected to make his debut alongside Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho, while Jankowski's participation remains uncertain.

In terms of goaltending, Frederik Andersen is anticipated to start after securing his first win in five starts against Detroit earlier this week. However, if Pyotr Kochetkov plays instead, he will aim for his first victory against Winnipeg.

Winnipeg continues its strong performance with top rankings in power play percentage and fewest goals allowed per game this season. Connor Hellebuyck leads their defensive efforts with an impressive .927 save percentage.

Kyle Connor stands out offensively for the Jets with 33 goals and 80 points so far this season. The team is concluding a four-game road trip through the Metropolitan Division.

On the injury front for Carolina, Dmitry Orlov returned to practice after missing Thursday’s game due to a minor injury, while William Carrier remains sidelined with a lower-body injury since January.

Following Sunday's game, the Hurricanes will practice on Monday before facing Tampa Bay at home on Tuesday night.
