Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, has announced the recall of defenseman Scott Morrow from the Chicago Wolves, an AHL team. In a corresponding move, defenseman Riley Stillman has been assigned to Chicago.
Morrow, aged 22, debuted with the Hurricanes this season on February 4 against Winnipeg and has played two games for them. He has achieved 39 points (13 goals and 26 assists) in 51 games with the Wolves this season. Last season, he played mainly for UMass and scored 30 points in 37 games, earning Third-Team All-Star honors in Hockey East. Morrow was drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft and signed a three-year entry-level contract with them on April 2, 2024.
Riley Stillman, aged 26, made his debut for the Hurricanes on January 28 against the New York Rangers and appeared in three games this season. With five points (2 goals and 3 assists) over 20 appearances with the Wolves, Stillman previously spent last season with Rochester Americans where he scored six points in 47 games. Originally drafted by Florida in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Stillman joined Carolina as a free agent on July 3.
The changes reflect ongoing adjustments within both teams as they navigate their respective seasons.
