NC State wrestling signs top-ranked recruits for class of '25

NC State wrestling head coach Pat Popolizio has announced the signing of five recruits for the 2025 class. This group has been ranked as the No. 6 recruiting class by FloWrestling, as of September 19.

Among the signees, Will Denny, Brogan Tucker, and Daniel Zepeda are featured on FloWrestling's Big Board rankings list. Zepeda is at No. 7, Denny at No. 17, and Tucker at No. 27.

All five recruits have also been named to Sports Illustrated's 2024-25 Preseason National High School Rankings, which lists the top 25 wrestlers in each weight class nationwide.

Will Denny from Manhattan, Illinois is ranked No. 17 on FloWrestling's Class of 2025 High School Big Board and No. 3 at 150lbs by Sports Illustrated in their preseason rankings. He won the Super 32 Challenge at 157lbs in 2024 and a state title during his junior year.

Cason Howle from Greenwood, South Carolina is ranked No. 14 at 215lbs by Sports Illustrated in their preseason rankings and is a three-time South Carolina state champion with a record of 159-1 entering his senior year.

Jason Kwaak from Brentwood, New York holds a ranking of No. 11 at 150lbs by Sports Illustrated in their preseason rankings. He placed third at the High School Wrestling Nationals in Virginia Beach and second at the Northeast Regional for freestyle in 2023.

Brogan Tucker from Sidney, Ohio is ranked No. 27 on FloWrestling's Class of 2025 High School Big Board and No.7 at 157lbs by Sports Illustrated in their preseason rankings. He is a three-time state champion who placed fourth at the Super 32 tournament in his weight class.

Daniel Zepeda from Gilroy, California ranks No.7 on FloWrestling's Class of 2025 High School Big Board and No.2 at144 lbs by Sports Illustrated in their preseason rankings. He has won multiple titles including a California State Title as a sophomore and was part of the Men's Freestyle USA Junior National Team for two consecutive years.
