Spencer Martin is set to make his second NHL start of the season as the Carolina Hurricanes face off against the Ottawa Senators. With Frederik Andersen sidelined due to a lower-body injury and Pyotr Kochetkov also injured, Martin steps in for the game.

Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour mentioned that Kochetkov could have played if necessary, but the team opted for caution. Yaniv Perets was called up late on Friday and may serve as Martin's backup.

The Hurricanes will maintain their lineup from recent games, with Seth Jarvis remaining out due to an upper-body injury. The team hopes he can return to practice next week.

Martin Necas aims to extend his 11-game point streak. He has accumulated 22 points during this period, tying him with Kirill Kaprizov and Nathan MacKinnon for most points by an NHL skater since October 22.

The projected lineup includes forwards Andrei Svechnikov, Sebastian Aho, Jack Roslovic; Eric Robinson, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Necas; Jordan Martinook, Jordan Staal, William Carrier; Tyson Jost, Jack Drury, Blake. On defense are Jaccob Slavin with Brent Burns; Dmitry Orlov with Jalen Chatfield; Shayne Gostisbehere with Scott Walker. Spencer Martin will be starting in goal.

Injuries affecting the team include Andersen (lower body), Jesper Fast (neck), Jarvis (upper body), and Kochetkov (unspecified). Ty Smith is listed as a scratch.

Power play units feature Aho, Blake, Necas, Svechnikov with Gostisbehere on PP1 and Drury, Kotkaniemi, Roslovic with Burns and Walker on PP2.
