NC State wrestling team, ranked seventh, commenced their dual-match season with a decisive victory over Campbell, securing a 44-3 win at Journeymen's WrangleMania in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The event took place on Saturday evening.

In the first dual match of the 2024-25 season, NC State showcased its new lineup with four out of ten bouts ending in pinfalls. Victories were achieved in all four ranked matchups across the 141, 157, 174, and 197-pound classes.

The initial two bouts at 125 and 133 pounds resulted in a tie score of three each. However, NC State did not allow Campbell to score further points for the remainder of the match.

Kai Orine, Ed Scott, Matty Singleton, and Christian Knop secured falls against their opponents. Dylan Fishback also contributed by earning a technical fall during the second period.

Matty Singleton made an impressive return after his redshirt year by pinning Dom Baker in just 24 seconds at the 174-pound weight class.

The evening concluded with Isaac Trumble's debut match at heavyweight for NC State. He narrowly defeated Taye Ghadiali with a score of 2-1.

Following this victory, NC State will participate in the Journeymen's Collegiate Classic round-robin individual tournament on Sunday at Freedom High School in Bethlehem.
