Victoria Osuigwe, the second-ranked national recruit, has committed to join the NC State women's tennis program in the fall of 2025. This marks a significant milestone as she becomes the highest-ranked U.S. recruit in the history of the program.

"I speak for everyone associated with Pack women's tennis that we are incredibly proud to welcome Tori and her family to the program," stated head coach Simon Earnshaw. He emphasized the dedication he and his colleague David have shown over the past decade to create an environment that fosters opportunities both during college and at professional levels.

This is not Earnshaw's first success in recruiting top talent. In previous years, he secured commitments from Mia Slama, Maddy Zampardo, and Abigail Rencheli, all ranked within the top ten recruits of their respective classes.

"Obviously, Tori's parents, Jessica and Desmond, have done an amazing job themselves, have unique insight into this process and fully understand what it takes," added Earnshaw. He anticipates Osuigwe will bring valuable experience and energy to NC State’s team.

Osuigwe's recent achievements include being a doubles finalist at the 2024 USTA 18's National Hard Courts and winning doubles at W25 Punta Cana in 2023. She also reached significant milestones on the ITF Pro Circuit with nine semifinal appearances in doubles and three quarterfinal finishes in singles.

Hailing from Bradenton, Florida, Osuigwe comes from a sports-oriented family. Her father played tennis at Jackson State; her mother was a collegiate softball player; her sister Whitney is a WTA professional; and her brother Deandre played basketball at Florida A&M.

Osuigwe expressed confidence in NC State's coaching staff’s ability to aid her development towards achieving professional success in tennis. She felt an immediate connection with NC State which influenced her decision to join their program.
