The Carolina Hurricanes, fresh off a home victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets, will face the New York Islanders on Saturday. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be watched on FanDuel Sports Network South or listened to via 99.9 The Fan.

Currently holding a record of 30-16-3, the Hurricanes are second in the Metropolitan Division. Their recent win was highlighted by Seth Jarvis' four-point performance and Frederik Andersen's 300th career win as a goalie.

This season, the Hurricanes have faced the Islanders twice. In one encounter, they lost after conceding four goals in a single period but won another match with Pyotr Kochetkov securing a shutout.

On Friday night, Carolina made headlines with a significant trade involving Mikko Rantanen and Taylor Hall joining their roster while Jack Drury and Martin Necas were sent to Colorado.

In terms of injuries, William Carrier is expected to miss several months due to a lower-body injury sustained earlier this month. Tyson Jost remains sidelined but has returned to practice in limited capacity.

As for the Islanders, they aim for their fourth consecutive win following a victory over Philadelphia. Despite struggles this season with special teams metrics, Mat Barzal has been performing well recently.

After Saturday's game against the Islanders, Carolina will take Sunday off before playing against the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
