Congresswoman Deborah Ross, representing North Carolina’s 2nd district since 2021, has made recent statements regarding housing and healthcare issues. Born in Philadelphia in 1963, Ross now resides in Raleigh and holds degrees from Brown University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
On January 29, 2025, Ross expressed her commitment to affordable housing through a tweet stating: "Everyone in our community deserves access to a safe, affordable place to call home. I was thrilled to attend the grand opening of CASA's King's Ridge affordable housing project, for which I helped secure $2 million in federal funding."
In another post on the same day, she addressed a reversal by former President Trump concerning healthcare policies: "Our collective outcry made Trump and his enablers backtrack on their cruel and unconstitutional decision to block North Carolinians' healthcare, childcare, emergency services and disaster relief. They won't learn their lesson and they'll try again. But we're ready to fight back."
Later that day, Ross showed support for Jeff Jackson with a tweet: "I am once again grateful to have an @NCAGO like Jeff Jackson leading with North Carolina values and upholding the Constitution. Trump's action to halt federal funding isn't just cruel - it's illegal."
