Governor Roy Cooper has announced that Abstract Ice Inc, a company specializing in craft ice products, will establish a new manufacturing facility in Forest City, Rutherford County. The project is expected to create 26 jobs and involve an investment of over $14.7 million.

Governor Cooper stated, "Today, we celebrate Abstract Ice investing in Rutherford County," highlighting the benefits of North Carolina's skilled workforce and infrastructure.

Abstract Ice, founded in 2018, produces crystal-clear ice products for bars and event venues. The company has developed technology to automate ice carving, focusing on safety and efficiency. CEO Todd Stevenson expressed excitement about joining the Forest City community and acknowledged North Carolina's business-friendly environment.

Key partners in this project include various state departments and local institutions like Isothermal Community College and the Town of Forest City.
