RALEIGH, N.C. - Last summer on July 1, Eric Robinson joined the Hurricanes as a free-agent signee. Initially an unfamiliar face to fans, Robinson has since made his presence felt on the ice.

Robinson described his previous season as less than ideal and expressed his determination to maintain his position at the NHL level this year. "I'm happy with it," he stated about his performance so far. He added, "This was an important year for me to get back on track and prove what kind of player I thought I could be."

Throughout the season, Robinson has played various roles within the team lineup. "I didn't expect it, but I knew I was capable of it," he said regarding his adaptability in different positions. He emphasized the importance of being versatile in today's game.

When discussing differences between playing for the Hurricanes and other teams, Robinson highlighted the positive culture within the organization. "Culture is a word that's probably used maybe too often, but you can just tell from the leaders to the coaching staff down; it's all about the example that they set."

Reflecting on his favorite NHL players growing up, Robinson mentioned Jeremy Roenick and Claude Giroux as inspirations. As for his jersey number #50, he explained its origin during his time with Columbus and noted its availability wherever he goes.

Living in Raleigh has been a pleasant experience for Robinson and his wife due to its convenience and favorable weather. "Everything is really close, which is nice," he remarked.

When asked about local dining preferences, Robinson mentioned Angus Barn as a memorable spot visited around Christmas time.

In lighter questions about personal preferences outside hockey, Robinson shared that he's more of a night owl who enjoys music by Noah Kahan and has recently started using subtitles when watching shows or movies.
