The Carolina Hurricanes ended a three-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche at Lenovo Center. Andrei Svechnikov led the team with his first career four-point game, while Martin Necas and Sebastian Aho each contributed two points.

Necas scored the game-winning goal, marking his league-leading 41st point of the season. His shot was placed in the top corner, sandwiched between two goals from Colorado that kept them competitive. Svechnikov secured the victory with an empty-net goal in the final moments.

Eric Robinson equalized for Carolina after they conceded first, deflecting a Brent Burns shot past Scott Wedgewood. Carolina showed strong offensive pressure early on, posting 15 shots in the first period alone.

In the second period, Seth Jarvis scored on a power play, followed by Jack Roslovic's one-timer from a Svechnikov setup. Pyotr Kochetkov made 17 saves to secure his first win since returning from injury.

Martin Necas became the fastest player in franchise history to reach 40 points this season and currently leads the league in scoring with 41 points. Eric Robinson scored his third goal in four games and is approaching his career-high point total.

Svechnikov's performance was notable as he recorded four points for the first time, focusing on playmaking with three assists including one on Necas' decisive goal. The Hurricanes also dominated faceoffs, winning 64% of draws against Colorado.

Coach Rod Brind'Amour praised his team's effort: "Our group played really well tonight. That was a 60-minute effort." He highlighted Jordan Staal's line for their defensive work against Colorado's top players.

Jordan Martinook emphasized special teams' role: "Timely kills...our power play...that's what you want."

Svechnikov commented on the importance of bouncing back: "Obviously it was a tough few games for us before (tonight), but [this was] just an overall great game."

The Hurricanes will practice Friday before facing the New York Islanders on Saturday at Long Island.
