NC State's women's tennis team is set to participate in the final regular season fall tournament at the 2024 ITA DI Women's East Sectional Championship. The event will take place from November 7 to November 10 at the Chewning Tennis Center at UNC, Chapel Hill.
The championship features schools from the Atlantic, Carolina, New England, and Northeast regions. The top six singles players and three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships scheduled for November 19-24. Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo have already secured their spot in Waco, Texas, after winning the ITA All-American Doubles Championship in September.
Eligibility for participation in the ITA Sectional Championship is limited to players and doubles teams who have not yet earned entry into the NCAA Championships but have advanced significantly in prior tournaments such as the ITA All-American or ITA Regional Championships. Three Wolfpack players are aiming to secure their place in Waco this weekend.
Mia Slama and Broadfoot will compete in singles matches. Slama will face Duke's Katie Codd on Thursday at 11:30 a.m., while Broadfoot will play against South Carolina's Sarah Hamner at 1 p.m.
In doubles competition, Slama pairs with Gabia Paskauskas to play against Penn's Eileen Wang & Sabine Rutlauka on Thursday at 3 p.m.
Admission to watch these matches is free of charge, with a live stream available online for those unable to attend.
The NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships marks the conclusion of this year's fall season and runs from November 19 through November 24.
