NC State third baseman Alec Makarewicz has been named to the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region First Team, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Tuesday morning.

Makarewicz, who has already earned Second Team All-ACC honors and was named the NCAA Raleigh Regional's Most Outstanding Player, continues to add accolades to an impressive season for the Wolfpack. He leads NC State with a .380 batting average, 80 RBIs, 22 home runs, 95 hits, and a .744 slugging percentage.

The Longwood, Florida native has maintained a .414 batting average in the NCAA Tournament so far, leading his team with 12 hits, five doubles, and 26 total bases. Makarewicz batted .400 (6-for-15) with two home runs and four RBIs to help guide NC State back to Omaha for the fourth time in program history and the third time since 2013.

Makarewicz's 22 home runs rank tied for sixth in NC State single-season history. His 80 RBIs are tied for second in Wolfpack single-season history; he needs just seven more to tie Turtle Zaun for the program record. Additionally, he is tied with Tony Ellison for the single-season program record for total bases (186), needing just one more base hit to set a new record.

NC State will face Kentucky in its opening round game at the 2024 NCAA Men's College World Series. The teams will compete on Saturday at Omaha's Charles Schwab Field at 2 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ESPN.
