RALEIGH, N.C. - Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov is set to return to the ice on Tuesday as the Carolina Hurricanes face off against the Nashville Predators. The 25-year-old had previously secured five consecutive wins before facing a challenging game in Los Angeles on Saturday, where he allowed more than four goals for the first time this season.
The Hurricanes are expected to use the same lineup of skaters that led them to a 5-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. Andrei Svechnikov, who is dealing with an upper-body injury, participated in morning skate but served as an extra, suggesting he may miss his seventh straight game.
"I think we're at a point now where he probably could have went tonight, but he hadn't had a real good practice, and with the way that travel was, it just didn't feel like tonight would be the right night," stated Rod Brind'Amour. "I would anticipate that if everything keeps going in the right direction that he'll be in the next game."
Forwards will include Jarvis, Aho, Blake; Hall, Kotkaniemi, Roslovic; Martinook, Staal, Stankoven; Robinson, Jankowski, and Jost. On defense will be Slavin and Burns; Orlov and Chatfield; Gostisbehere and Walker. Kochetkov will start as goaltender with Andersen as backup.
Injuries include William Carrier (lower-body), out for several months since January 24; Jesper Fast (neck), out for the entire 2024-25 season; and Andrei Svechnikov (upper-body), day-to-day as of March 25. Scott Morrow is listed as a scratch.
Special teams lineups feature PP1: Aho, Hall, Jarvis, and Stankoven with Gostisbehere; PP2: Blake, Kotkaniemi, and Roslovic with Burns and Walker.
Odds at time of publishing from Fanatics Sportsbook favor Canes at -285.
The game begins at 7:00 p.m.
