The Carolina Hurricanes are set to conclude their final West Coast trip of the regular season with a game against the Anaheim Ducks. The match is scheduled for Sunday, March 23, with puck drop at 8:00 p.m. ET. Fans can watch on FanDuel Sports Network South or listen via 99.9 The Fan and the Hurricanes App.

The Hurricanes hold a record of 42-23-4, placing them second in the Metropolitan Division with 88 points. They recently faced a setback, losing 7-2 to the Los Angeles Kings, which ended their eight-game winning streak. Dmitry Orlov scored one goal for Carolina, while Mark Jankowski increased his tally to five goals in six games.

In their previous encounter with Anaheim, the Hurricanes managed two goals in the third period but ultimately lost 3-2 in overtime at Lenovo Center.

Rookie Scott Morrow has been performing well after returning to the lineup due to Shayne Gostisbehere's illness. Morrow has registered points in three consecutive games and played a season-high of over 21 minutes against Los Angeles.

Frederik Andersen is expected to start as goaltender against his former team. Andersen has won his last four starts and maintained strong statistics against Pacific Division teams throughout his career.

The Anaheim Ducks have a record of 30-31-8 and are striving to remain competitive in the Western Conference playoff race. They have won three out of their last four games, including victories over Nashville Predators. Forward Mason MacTavish has been instrumental for Anaheim lately, contributing significantly with points in recent matches.

Anaheim faces challenges on power plays and faceoffs this season, ranking low in both areas within the NHL standings.

Regarding injuries for Carolina, forward Seth Jarvis left Saturday's game due to an undisclosed injury but appeared fine according to coach Rod Brind'Amour. Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere missed Saturday's game because of illness affecting several players on the team. Jordan Staal did not participate due to a lower-body injury sustained earlier this month. Andrei Svechnikov hopes to return soon from an upper-body injury suffered on March 8th.

After Sunday's game against Anaheim, Carolina will travel back home before facing Nashville Predators again on Tuesday evening at PNC Arena Raleigh North Carolina
