After a night off, Pyotr Kochetkov is expected to be the starting goaltender for the Carolina Hurricanes as they face the Vegas Golden Knights. Kochetkov recently played in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Anaheim Ducks and currently holds a record of 16-9-2 with a goals-against average of 2.54 and a save percentage of .901.

Frederik Andersen is anticipated to serve as backup after being cleared to return following knee surgery in November. Andersen's next game will mark his 500th NHL appearance. As part of roster adjustments, Dustin Tokarski has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves in the AHL.

The Hurricanes plan to use the same lineup of skaters as recent games, with Ty Smith remaining an extra player. The team's projected lineup includes forwards Roslovic, Aho, Jarvis, Robinson, Kotkaniemi, Necas, Svechnikov, Staal, Martinook, Jaaska, Drury, and Blake. On defense are Slavin, Burns, Orlov, Chatfield, Gostisbehere, and Walker.

The betting odds for tonight's game favor the Hurricanes at -150 according to Fanatics Sportsbook.

Injuries affecting the team include William Carrier with a lower-body injury and Tyson Jost also dealing with a lower-body issue. Jesper Fast is out for the season due to a neck injury.

The power play units are set with PP1 featuring Aho, Jarvis, Necas, Svechnikov alongside Gostisbehere; PP2 includes Blake, Drury, Kotkaniemi along with Roslovic and Burns.

Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
