The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) has released a statement in response to Governor Josh Stein's inaugural address. The statement criticizes the policies outlined by Governor Stein, suggesting they mirror those from the past eight years.
According to Matt Mercer, the NCGOP Communications Director, "Governor Josh Stein today pledges to continue the same tired policies North Carolinians endured for the past eight years in the Executive Mansion." Mercer further commented on Democratic actions, stating, "While Democrats spend their time appointing political donors to state boards and complaining about responsible governance, Republicans will continue to lead."
The statement concludes with a reaffirmation of trust in Republican leadership: "That’s why the voters of this state trust Republicans to deliver for families, small businesses, and workers," Mercer added.
