Doug Warf, President of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, has announced further details for the events honoring Eric Staal. The celebration will include several activities over two days in January.

On January 12, a Red Carpet Reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., presented by Coastal Credit Union. This VIP event at the Lenovo Center’s Arena Club will feature more than a dozen Hurricanes alumni such as Justin Williams, Ray Whitney, and Cam Ward. Attendees will enjoy a panel discussion on Staal's career, complimentary food and drinks, and receive an exclusive souvenir box with two commemorative Eric Staal pucks. Tickets are priced at $350 with proceeds benefiting the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.

Later that day at 3:30 p.m., Eric Staal’s No. 12 jersey retirement ceremony will take place before the game against the Anaheim Ducks. The first 6,500 fans will receive limited-edition Eric Staal bobbleheads courtesy of UNC Health. All attendees will also get Eric Staal Retirement Night Mini-Banners.

The following day on January 13, an Alumni Game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., also presented by Coastal Credit Union. Eric Staal and over 15 former teammates will compete against NC State’s Icepack club hockey team at Lenovo Center. Notable alumni participating include Rod Brind’Amour and Tim Gleason. General admission tickets are $20 with reserved seating options available for higher prices.

These events aim to celebrate a career marked by honor and respect as Eric Staal's number is set to join other legends in Raleigh's rafters.
