NC State Football is set to compete in the Go Bowling Military Bowl against East Carolina, as announced in Washington, D.C. The game will take place on December 28 at 5:45 pm at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, and will be broadcast on ESPN.
This marks NC State's 36th bowl qualification and its 35th bowl appearance. Under head coach Dave Doeren, this will be their 10th bowl game in his 12 seasons with the team. Previously, the Wolfpack played at Navy's stadium in a game against the Midshipmen in 2002.
"We are excited to be headed to the Military Bowl and to compete in an event that benefits our nation's current and former service members," said Doeren. "We appreciate the Military Bowl Foundation for inviting us and are looking forward to a great game."
NC State holds a historical advantage over East Carolina with a series lead of 19-13 since they first met in 1970. The two teams have faced off once before in a bowl setting during the 1992 Peach Bowl where NC State was narrowly defeated by East Carolina with a score of 34-37. Recently, NC State has won three consecutive meetings against East Carolina.
Fans interested in attending can purchase tickets through GoPack.com or via phone from the NC State Athletics Ticket Office by December 11. Seating priority is determined by Wolfpack Club rank followed by order date for non-members.
