Seven members of the NC State men's soccer team have been declared eligible for the upcoming MLS SuperDraft 2025. The event is scheduled to commence on Friday, December 20 at 2 p.m., accessible via Major League Soccer's website and social media channels. A total of 477 players from 150 schools nationwide are set to participate in this year's draft.
Recently, Hakim Karamoko was among the select few invited to the prestigious 2024 MLS adidas College Showcase in San Diego, where he trained in front of representatives from each MLS team. This opportunity was extended to only 44 athletes across the country.
The eligible players from NC State include:
- Taig Healy, an attacking midfielder from MLS NEXT Academy: Seacoast United, who played all games this season and led his team in points with six goals and six assists.
- Isaac Heffess, a junior defender known for his consistent play throughout the season, contributing one goal and two assists.
- Hakim Karamoko, a sophomore forward recognized for his seven goals this season and participation in the All-ACC Second Team.
- Drew Lovelace, a junior midfielder who scored pivotal goals during NCAA Tournament matches.
- Donavan Phillip, another key forward who tied for second on his team with six goals this season.
- Vusumzi Plamana, a senior midfielder who made significant contributions including scoring decisive goals during crucial matches.
- Yves Tcheuyap, a senior defender noted for his defensive capabilities and assisting four goals this season.
These players represent NC State's strong presence in collegiate soccer as they aim to make their mark in professional leagues through the SuperDraft.
