Jefferson Griffin, a Republican candidate for the North Carolina Supreme Court, has taken legal action to hasten the resolution of election protests with the N.C. State Board of Elections. The motion was filed on December 2nd.

NCGOP Communications Director Matt Mercer emphasized the need for prompt resolution: "The people of North Carolina deserve to see these protests resolved in a timely manner. Any delays at the N.C. State Board of Elections would undermine voter confidence and transparency."

According to reports, some counties have confirmed that only legal votes were counted, while others admitted to including illegal votes. These issues are set to be addressed by the State Board for final resolution. Mercer stated, "Our priority remains ensuring that every legal vote is counted and that the public can trust the integrity of this election."

The motion proposes an expedited timeline:

(a) A deadline for filing any response to disqualify Siobhan Millen by 5:00 PM on December 4, 2024;

(b) Retaining a deadline for parties to file briefs regarding certain protests by 5:00 PM on December 6, 2024;

(c) A decision on the Motion to Disqualify no later than December 6, 2024;

(d) A final written decision on certain protests no later than December 9, 2024.
