NC State women prepare for top-ranked clash against LSU at Baha Mar

NC State's women's basketball team is preparing for a challenging match against LSU at the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship. The game, featuring No. 20/17 NC State and No. 7/7 LSU, will take place at the Baha Mar Convention Center and will be available on FloCollege.

In their first game of the championship, NC State defeated Southern with a score of 77-47. They dominated in the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponents 32-9. Currently ranked No. 20 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the WBCA Coaches Poll, NC State has experienced losses to South Carolina and TCU, both highly ranked teams.

Aziaha James leads NC State with an average of 18.3 points per game and has reached over 1,000 career points this season. Saniya Rivers excels in blocks and steals per game, while Zoe Brooks leads in assists. The team is notable for committing few fouls per game and maintaining strong defensive rebounds.

LSU was predicted to finish third in preseason SEC polls after a successful previous season ending with an Elite Eight appearance. Key players include Flau'Jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow who were recognized as Co-Preseason Players of the Year by media outlets. This season, Johnson averages 23.3 points per game while Morrow contributes significantly with rebounds.

The upcoming matchup marks the fourth meeting between NC State and LSU since their series began in 2012, with LSU leading historically two games to one.

Following this tournament match-up, NC State will host Ole Miss on December 5th as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge which will be broadcast on ESPN2.
