The Carolina Hurricanes secured a decisive 5-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena, marking the Golden Knights' first home loss of the season. The Hurricanes showcased a strong offensive performance with five different players scoring goals. Pyotr Kochetkov contributed significantly to the win by making 30 saves on 32 shots, earning his seventh consecutive victory.

Eric Robinson opened the scoring for the Hurricanes by deflecting a shot from Sean Walker past Adin Hill early in the game. Jesperi Kotkaniemi doubled the lead eight minutes later, capitalizing on his own rebound after receiving a pass from Martin Necas. Jordan Staal added to Carolina's lead with a shorthanded goal in the second period, following a turnover forced by Jordan Martinook.

Tyson Jost extended Carolina's advantage to 4-0 when he redirected a shot from Jaccob Slavin into the net. Although Vegas managed to score two goals in the third period, Martinook sealed Carolina's win with an empty-net goal.

The Hurricanes have now scored four or more goals in nine consecutive games, setting a new team record and achieving their second-longest streak in franchise history. Reflecting on their recent performance, Rod Brind'Amour stated, "I think it was real solid. It was a good start." Meanwhile, Jordan Martinook emphasized team depth as key to their success: "Every line is contributing."

Martin Necas continued his impressive form with an assist streak extending to ten games and leads his team with 24 points this season. Tyson Jost made an impactful debut for Carolina by scoring his first goal after being called up.

Carolina will head to Utah next for practice before facing off against another opponent in Salt Lake City.
