Governor Cooper announces multiple board appointments across various sectors in North Carolina

Governor Roy Cooper has announced new appointments to various boards and commissions across North Carolina. These appointments reflect a diverse range of expertise and backgrounds.

To the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging, Adrienne A. Livengood from Winston Salem and Debra A. Stonecipher from Asheville have been appointed as members at-large. Livengood has experience with senior care advocacy, while Stonecipher is noted for her work with aging parents and Alzheimer's research.

The North Carolina Arts Council will welcome Susan W. Woodson, Dr. Paul Keith Baker, and Dr. William Henry Curry as members at-large. Woodson is an artist with extensive graphic design experience; Dr. Baker is involved in art museum leadership and education; Dr. Curry serves as the Music Director of the Durham Symphony Orchestra.

John M. Harris of Winston-Salem joins the North Carolina Auctioneers Commission by the Governor’s discretion, bringing his legal expertise to the board.

Joseph Patrick Hatem of Southport is appointed to the Bald Head Island Transportation Authority Board of Trustees, having served as Mayor of Southport previously.

Adam Lockhart Taylor of Raleigh becomes a representative for employers on the North Carolina Employment Security Board of Review, leveraging his experience in governmental relations.

Melissa H. Smith from Wake County represents community colleges on the North Carolina Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control.

Scarlett Hargis from Garner takes up a role as a public member on the Disciplinary Hearing Commission of the North Carolina State Bar.

Dr. Bradley S. Stevenson from Charlotte will represent private schools on the North Carolina Council on Educational Services for Exceptional Children.

Anne Morgan Selleck from Durham brings her otolaryngology specialization to the North Carolina Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Licensing Board.

Craig Lee Dennis of Murfreesboro joins as a member at-large on the Historic Murfreesboro Commission, contributing his teaching background and local government involvement.

Melissa A. Lovell from Holly Springs joins as a member at-large on the North Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board with her legal services management background.

Kerry M. Wiggins from Winston-Salem becomes a member at-large on the North Carolina Human Relations Commission with experience in conservation voter programs.

Erich Crouch from Greensboro joins as a public member on the North Carolina Locksmith Licensing Board following his career in adult corrections safety training.

Appointments to The North Carolina Commission for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services include Carolyn Floyd Robinson, Dr. Hany A. Kaoud, Danny Ray Graves, Suzanne Mizsur-Porter, and Karon F. Johnson representing various specialties within mental health services.

Mildred Christmas from Raleigh becomes a member at-large on The Martin Luther King Jr., Commission with extensive state procurement expertise.

Rebecca Irene Axford of Hillsborough joins NCWorks Commission representing workforce interests through her work with electrical workers' education initiatives.

Jeffrey Clark Farlow of Greensboro brings his plumbing contracting skills to The North Carolina State Board Of Examiners For Plumbing Heating And Fire Sprinkler Contractors
