Governor Roy Cooper announced today that Duotech Services, LLC, an engineering company specializing in the repair and maintenance of legacy defense equipment, will be expanding its operations in Macon County, creating 95 new jobs. In a statement, Governor Cooper emphasized the significance of Duotech's growth, stating, “Duotech’s growth is another reason why North Carolina is the most military-friendly state in the country.”

Duotech Services LLC, established in 1982, has been continuously operating in Franklin since 1986. Co-founder Dan Rogers identified a market need for obsolescence mitigation in defense equipment, leading the company to become a major supplier of maintenance and repair support services to components of the U.S. Government.

Chairman of Duotech’s Board of Directors, Brian Ferraioli, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the exceptional support from the Governor’s office, while President and CEO Dan Bader affirmed the company’s commitment to the community, stating, “This is our home. We want to remain in this community and are proud to provide good paying technical jobs in Macon County. We are hiring!”

Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders commended the decision of a North Carolina-based company to expand within the state, noting the favorable business environment and workforce development programs. The North Carolina Department of Commerce played a key role in supporting Duotech during its expansion process.

The project will be facilitated by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) approved by the state’s Economic Investment Committee, with a projected return on investment of 234 percent. Senator Kevin Corbin expressed appreciation for the expansion, stating, “North Carolina’s reputation as a military-friendly state grows stronger thanks to today’s decision.”

Representative Karl E. Gillespie reflected on Duotech’s history in Macon County, acknowledging their continued growth and contribution to the local economy. Partners involved in the project included various state and local entities, underscoring the collaborative effort to support Duotech’s expansion.

Duotech Services is positioned as a leading provider of repair and sustainment services for radar and military aircraft systems, while Bernhard Capital Partners, the company's parent organization, focuses on creating sustainable value in services and infrastructure businesses.

With the expansion of Duotech Services in Macon County, North Carolina continues to solidify its position as a hub for defense industry innovation and job creation.
