On April 16, 2025, Senator Lazzara reported about a productive meeting with Jacksonville Police Chief Jarad Phelps and Public Safety Director Michael Yaniero. He mentioned that they discussed "key public safety concerns and opportunities to strengthen our community." Senator Lazzara expressed his gratitude for their leadership and dedication to ensuring the safety of Jacksonville.

The following day, on April 17, 2025, Lazzara announced that the #NCGA Senate has passed a conservative budget resulting in significant benefits for Onslow County. Key points of the budget include the establishment of Onslow’s own superior court district, which Lazzara describes as "a big step for local justice," and an allocation of "$2M to protect Topsail Island’s natural beauty and resilience."
