Governor Josh Stein has recently announced a series of appointments and nominations across various boards and commissions in North Carolina.

Governor Stein nominated Erin S. Hucks to the Governor's Crime Commission as a Chief District Court Judge, highlighting her significant contributions to the legal field in Union County. Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough has been nominated to the same commission, bringing his extensive experience in law enforcement from Forsyth County. Nisha G. Williams was nominated as a representative from a domestic or sexual assault program, emphasizing her role as the Legal Director of the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

The Historic Hillsborough Commission will see new members Joseph Petrizzi and Laura Juel appointed by Governor Stein. Petrizzi is tied to historical preservation efforts through the Chapel Hill Historical Society, while Juel brings expertise from the medical field as an evaluator and occupational therapist.

The North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners also welcomes appointments: Dr. Kenneth Brown and Dr. Chad Robertson, both having substantial experience in chiropractic and health services. They have been involved in professional associations relevant to their field.

In transportation, Graham Bennett and Theresa Judge will serve on the North Carolina Board of Transportation, representing Districts 9 and 1, respectively. Their previous roles in business and healthcare management convey a diverse range of expertise.

Shannon Trapp and Raquel Painter were appointed to the North Carolina College Foundation Board and the Military Affairs Commission, respectively. Trapp is recognized for her executive role in Durham County Government, while Painter's nomination reflects her long-standing military service and leadership with nonprofit organizations.

The North Carolina Utilities Commission sees a nomination with Michael Hawkins, whose background in public protection offers valuable insights to the board. Seyfi Hyson serves on boards dedicated to education and economic development, further enhancing the commission's expertise.

Additional appointments include the Honorable Teresa H. Vincent to the State Board of Dental Examiners, Dr. Janet Mason to the State Board of Education, and Tommy Dean Rowland to the State Board of Examiners for Plumbing, Heating, and Fire.

Other appointments of note include Louis D. Harvin-Ravin, Pastor Charles Thomas Dudley, and Jeff Joyner to the North Carolina Veterans Affairs Commission, all bringing unique military and leadership experiences. Daryl Larimore has been appointed to the Underground Damage Prevention Review Board, relying on his extensive aviation and engineering background.

Lastly, Larry Wooten joins the North Carolina Agricultural Hall of Fame Board, bringing years of leadership and experience in farming and agricultural advocacy.

These appointments reflect a wide range of professional backgrounds and geographic representations, showing Governor Stein's intent to address various community needs across the state.
