On February 28, Democratic governors, including Josh Stein, signed a statement concerning the meeting between President Trump and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This meeting took place in the Oval Office.
During the discussion, President Trump and Vice President Vance requested acknowledgment from the Ukrainian leader for the support provided by the United States to Ukraine. They also sought confirmation that an agreement could be reached to end ongoing conflicts in Europe.
NCGOP Communications Director Matt Mercer commented on the situation: “Democrats, including Josh Stein, seem to be content with other nations’ leaders disrespecting our President in the Oval Office. President Trump forcefully stands for our nation’s interests and will continue to do so. The pettiness of today’s Democrat Party seems to know no limits."
