Congresswoman Deborah Ross, representing North Carolina's 2nd district, has been vocal on social media about several pressing issues. Her recent tweets address concerns over Social Security, funding for research, and security grants for nonprofit organizations.

On February 15, 2025, Ross expressed her concern regarding the potential risks to Social Security posed by House Republicans and Elon Musk. She stated that "most people pay into Social Security" and emphasized that they deserve to receive their benefits upon retirement. Ross asserted her commitment to preventing any cuts to these benefits for North Carolinians: "I won't stand by and let them cut the benefits North Carolinians earned."

The following day, February 16, 2025, she highlighted the importance of funding research in support of public health and the local economy in North Carolina. In collaboration with Representative Gabe Amo and over 150 colleagues, Ross demanded an explanation from former President Trump regarding his alleged illegal freezing of NIH funds: "Funding for research supports public health and our local economy in North Carolina."

Later on February 16, Ross led her Democratic colleagues from North Carolina in advocating for federal funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. This initiative aims to enhance security at houses of worship amid rising antisemitic and Islamophobic violence: "With a continued rise in antisemitic & Islamophobic violence, it is critical we continue to fund these important programs."
