Governor Josh Stein has announced new additions to his team as he aims to strengthen North Carolina. The appointments include individuals with diverse backgrounds in law, policy, education, and public service.
Adam Chandler has been named Policy Director. Chandler hails from Burlington, North Carolina, and brings 12 years of experience from the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as Associate Deputy Attorney General and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Attorney General. His background includes work as an appellate attorney specializing in antitrust law.
Kindl Detar joins as Senior Policy Advisor. Detar previously held roles such as Special Deputy Attorney General and Director of the Public Protection Section at the North Carolina Department of Justice. Her career also includes time at Foundation For The Carolinas and Robinson Bradshaw.
Sadie Weiner will serve as a Senior Advisor. Weiner's experience spans nearly two decades in government and campaign roles, including Communications Director for Governor Roy Cooper and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
Awo Eni is appointed Digital Director after working on Cheri Beasley’s Senate campaign in 2022 and serving on Senator Sherrod Brown’s re-election campaign in Ohio.
Liz Doherty becomes a Policy Advisor after previously advising Governor Roy Cooper. She holds a Master’s degree from Duke University Sanford School.
Rania Hassan is named Policy Analyst with prior experience in Governor Roy Cooper's office. She graduated from NC State University with a focus on Environmental Science.
Madhu Vulimiri steps into the role of Senior Advisor for Health & Families Policy, bringing her expertise from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Elena Ashburn takes on the position of Senior Advisor for Education Policy following her tenure as an area superintendent in Wake County Public School System.
Jonathan Moch is appointed Senior Advisor for Climate & Energy Policy with previous roles at the U.S. Department of State focusing on international climate initiatives.
P.J. Connelly returns as Director of the Governor’s Eastern North Carolina Office after serving under former Governor Roy Cooper.
