Congresswoman Deborah Ross, who represents North Carolina’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has expressed her concerns through a series of tweets regarding recent political developments involving former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. Her comments reflect apprehension about the potential implications for American democracy and small business owners.

On February 4, 2025, Ross issued a statement concerning President Trump's decision to transfer power to Elon Musk. She stated: "My statement on President Trump's decision to cede power to unelected billionaire Elon Musk ".

Later that day, she highlighted the importance of supporting small businesses while criticizing Musk's access to personal information: "Supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs is vital for the American economy. Giving an unelected billionaire access to their personal information puts all small business owners in danger. @HouseDemocrats are ready put a stop to Musk's actions."

In another tweet on February 4, Ross addressed public fears and pledged her commitment to protect her constituents: "People are scared right now, and I understand your fear. The next four years will be tough, but I will do everything in my power to defend North Carolinians from Trump, Musk, and their entire chaos machine."
