Today, Jeff Jackson officially assumed the role of North Carolina's Attorney General. The ceremony took place in Raleigh, where Mecklenburg County Superior Court Judge Donald Cureton, Jr. administered the oath of office to Jackson.
Upon taking office, Attorney General Jeff Jackson expressed his commitment to upholding both state and national laws. "Today, I took the oath of office to become North Carolina’s Attorney General and swore to uphold the Constitution and laws of our state and our nation," he stated. He conveyed gratitude towards the people of North Carolina for their trust and pledged to perform his duties with integrity.
Jackson emphasized collaboration with public servants at the Department of Justice as a key focus area. "I’m going to work with the talented public servants at the Department of Justice to keep families safe, protect people from scammers, and help western North Carolina come back stronger after Hurricane Helene," he noted. Furthermore, he promised to act as a protective figure for all residents of North Carolina: "I’ll serve as a shield for all North Carolinians, and we’re going to fight to make life better for everyone who calls this great state home."
The newly sworn-in Attorney General concluded his statement with an encouraging call to action: "Let’s get to work."
