After leading the Wolfpack to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017, senior Amanda Rice has been awarded an All-American Honorable Mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The announcement was made by the organization on Wednesday morning.
Rice, who hails from Lemont, Illinois, is now one of only four players in the program's history to receive an All-American honor. She joins former Pack Pros Kylie Pickrell, Julia Brown, and Megan Cyr in this achievement.
The opposite hitter earned this recognition following her selection as an AVCA All-Region and Second Team All-ACC player earlier this month for the second consecutive year.
In her 2024 season, Rice started all 29 matches and surpassed the 1,000 career kill milestone against SMU. She is currently the only active player with this achievement. Throughout the season, she recorded double-digit kills in 20 out of 29 matches and achieved over 20 kills in three matches. Notably, she secured her first career double-double with 19 kills and 20 digs during a win over Miami on November 27.
