The NC State men's basketball team, currently holding a 7-3 record, will face its first road challenge of the season against Kansas. The game is set for Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. The Jayhawks, ranked 10th nationally with a 7-2 record, will host NC State at 3:15 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the match on ESPN or listen to the broadcast on the Wolfpack Sports Network.

NC State comes into this game after a victory over Coppin State, marking their annual Heritage Game return to Reynolds Coliseum. Marcus Hill and Dontrez Styles have been leading NC State's offensive efforts recently. Hill scored a game-high of 16 points against Coppin State, while Styles added 15 points. Over the last three games, Hill has maintained an average of 18.7 points per game with efficient shooting percentages.

Dontrez Styles has particularly excelled in second-half performances in recent matches, scoring most of his points after halftime and maintaining high shooting accuracy from both field goals and three-point range.

NC State boasts notable statistics in turnovers this season as well. Michael O'Connell leads the ACC with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.2, ranking him among the top players nationally in this category. The team has managed to keep a positive turnover margin consistently throughout their games.

The upcoming contest against Kansas marks NC State's second encounter with a ranked opponent this season. Previously they faced Purdue during the Rady Children's Invitational but fell short with a score of 71-61.

Historically, NC State has struggled against Kansas, having only one win in their past encounters out of thirteen games played between them. Their last meeting occurred on November 23, 2022, when Kansas secured an 80-74 victory over NC State during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

As NC State prepares for this matchup against Kansas on Saturday, Coach Kevin Keatts hopes to improve upon previous performances against top-ranked teams and secure another significant win for his program.
