Megan Wargo-Kearney has been appointed as the head coach of the Wolfpack Volleyball program, as announced by Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan. Wargo-Kearney has been with the team for five seasons, previously serving as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator since joining NC State in 2020.

Corrigan expressed his confidence in Wargo-Kearney's leadership abilities, stating, "I'm very excited to watch Megan step into the role of head coach. She has been a vital part of our team's success and is an exceptional leader and recruiter. Not only does she understand our culture, she helped build it."

Before her tenure at NC State, Wargo-Kearney was with Arkansas for four seasons, where she advanced from assistant coach to associate head coach. During her time there, she contributed to the success of several players who received AVCA All-South Region Awards and All-SEC recognitions.

Wargo-Kearney shared her gratitude for the opportunity: "I am so grateful to Boo Corrigan and the administration for trusting me to be our next head volleyball coach. It's been an honor to have been here with Luka since 2020 and to help build the groundwork for what I know is going to be a successful and exciting future for Wolfpack Volleyball."

Her coaching career also includes eight seasons at Truman State University, where she led the Bulldogs to six NCAA Tournament appearances and two conference titles. Her efforts resulted in multiple player accolades including three players earning eight AVCA All-America honors.

In addition to her coaching achievements at Truman State, Wargo-Kearney played a significant role in student-athlete development by creating a leadership institute within the athletic department.

Wargo-Kearney began her collegiate coaching career at Lees-McRae College, achieving notable success with both women's and men's teams over four seasons.

A graduate of Gettysburg College, Wargo-Kearney was recognized as a three-time all-conference performer in volleyball and also excelled in softball. She holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Truman State University.

Wargo-Kearney is married to Thomas Kearney, who is involved in football coaching at East Wake High School.
