Davidson was projected to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll after concluding last season with an 18-8 record despite canceling their season due to injuries. Charlise Dunn earned recognition on the A-10 Preseason Team following her performance last year. Freshman Candice Lienafa currently leads Davidson with an average of 11.3 points per game.
Historically, NC State has dominated their series against Davidson, leading it 9-1 overall and maintaining a perfect home record against them.
