Senior opposite Amanda Rice has been recognized for her performance in the 2024 volleyball season by earning her second consecutive All-Region honor. This accolade was announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday morning.
Rice is now among a select group, becoming just the sixth student-athlete in the program's history to receive All-Region honors twice during their career.
Hailing from Lemont, Illinois, Rice had a notable 2024 season. She started all 29 matches and played a pivotal role in leading the Wolfpack to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017. During this season, she surpassed the milestone of 1,000 career kills in a match against SMU, who were ranked tenth at that time. She stands out as the only active player to achieve this feat.
Throughout the season, Rice recorded double-digit kills in 20 of her 28 matches and had three matches where she exceeded 20 kills. On November 27th, she achieved her first career double-double with 19 kills and 20 digs in a victory over Miami.
In addition to her All-Region recognition, Rice also received All-ACC Second Team honors this season.
