Governor Cooper appoints new members to various boards

Governor Roy Cooper announced appointments to various boards and commissions. These appointments aim to strengthen leadership across several sectors in North Carolina.

To the Advanced Energy Board of Directors, Gov. Cooper appointed Amy E. Pickle from Morrisville as a member at-large. Pickle is a Senior Attorney for state policy at Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions.

William E. Lamb from Raleigh was named a member at-large of the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging. Lamb previously served as Associate Director for Public Service at the U.N.C. Institute on Aging.

Vantoinette Savage and Bregenia Hill-White, both from Charlotte, were appointed to the North Carolina Child Care Commission. Savage is CEO of Savage Academy, while Hill-White owns Hill’s Little Angels Daycare.

Essence B. Scott from Goldsboro and Sherif Elgindi from Durham joined the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities as members with developmental disabilities.

Rabbi Eric Solomon of Raleigh became a member-at-large of the North Carolina Humanities Council.

Appointments to the North Carolina Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs include Ashley Nicole Jarrett, Dr. Latonya L. Agard, Katrina R. Knight, Dr. Torry L. Reynolds, and Emila J. Sutton.

Morgan B. Ray of Raleigh was appointed to the North Carolina Internship Council representing colleges with fewer than 5,000 students.

Samuel J. Corbett III and William Spencer Service joined the Marine Fisheries Commission as Chair and recreational sports fisherman respectively.

Kevin Brinkley of Manteo was named to the North Carolina Marine Industrial Park Authority as a resident where a park is located.

Thomas Freeman of Spruce Pine will chair the North Carolina Mining Commission.

James Burton Hartman was appointed business representative to NCWorks Commission for agriculture-related industries.

Farah Lisa Whitley-Sebti joins the North Carolina Real Estate Commission as a public member.

Dolly Ann Williams and Dr. Nadyah Janine John were added to the North Carolina Recreational Therapy Licensure Board in their respective roles as therapeutic recreation specialist and licensed physician.

Vijendra Nalamothu becomes part of the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology and Innovation representing private industry interests.

Kimberly S. Jones joins the Board of Trustees for State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees as an at-large member from Danville.

Ricole Wicks was selected for Statewide Independent Living Council as an individual with disability representation from Greensboro.

The Tryon Palace Commission welcomes James W. Norment as Chair along with Monica Perry Minus serving at-large from New Bern.

Lastly, Mary Tiger and Matthew R. Zapp were named to positions on the Water Treatment Facility Operators Certification Board focusing on utility management within municipalities in Pittsboro and Stella respectively.
