Governor Cooper appoints Megean Simpson as District Court Judge

Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Megean Simpson as District Court Judge in Judicial District 30, which serves Union County. This appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of the Honorable Joseph Williams.

“Megean Simpson will serve the people of Union County well thanks to her wealth of experience and dedication to public service,” said Governor Cooper. “I am grateful for her service to her community and her willingness to accept this position.”

Simpson is currently an Assistant District Attorney in Union County and was previously an Associate Attorney at Austin Law Office, PLLC. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her Juris Doctorate from Charlotte School of Law.
