NC State women's soccer begins its 2024 regular season at home against App State on Thursday night. The match at Dail Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra, and live stats will be available.

NC State and App State will meet for only the second time. In their previous encounter on September 7, 2012, NC State won 3-1 with Jennie Krauser scoring two goals in the second half to secure the victory.

Head coach Tim Santoro, who started his tenure in 2013, will face App State for the first time. Under Santoro, NC State has a record of 7-2-2 in season openers.

App State finished the 2023 season with a record of 9-6-3 (6-2-2), placing second in the Sun Belt's East Division. Head coach Aimee Haywood is entering her third season. The team was predicted to tie for sixth place in the Sun Belt Coaches Poll, with forward Izzi Wood named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team.

Jaiden Thomas returns for NC State after missing the entire 2023 season due to injury. She has played a total of 69 games with 54 starts since joining in 2019.

Defender Alivia Kelly was named to the United Soccer Coaches' "2024 NCAA Division I Women's Defenders to Watch List." She was honored as America East Defender of the Year and made the America East First Team in 2023.

The team's roster includes 28 players: 17 returners and 11 newcomers, five of whom are transfers. The players come from ten states and four countries.
