Redshirt junior tight end Justin Joly has been named to the 2023 John Mackey Award Watch List. The Mackey Award is given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end.
Joly transferred to NC State in January from UCONN. During the 2023 season, he played in 12 games for the Huskies and totaled 56 receptions. He finished his freshman campaign with 578 total yards and a 10.32 yards per catch average.
The award is named in honor of John Mackey, a five-time Pro Bowl and three-time All-NFL selection. In 1992, Mackey became only the second tight end to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The John Mackey Award will be presented at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN in December.
