Quarterback Grayson McCall has earned another preseason honor after being named to the Walter Camp 2024 Player of the Year Preseason Watch List, the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football accolade.
McCall is one of 20 quarterbacks and 41 offensive players representing 39 schools and 10 conferences.
After being named to the Maxwell Award Watch List earlier this summer, McCall has been on both watch lists for consecutive seasons.
The three-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year (2020-22) – a Sun Belt Conference record – is in his first year with the Wolfpack. He appeared in 42 games for the Chanticleers; McCall threw for over 10,000 yards with 88 touchdown passes and just 14 interceptions.
McCall joins Phillip Rivers, T.A. McLendon, Tramain Hall, Mario Williams, David Amerson, Ryan Finley, and Devin Leary as Wolfpack players to be nominated on the preseason watch list.
The 2024 Player of the Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in early November and three finalists will be announced on November 26. The 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 133 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced on ESPN's College Football Awards Show on December 12.
