The Raleigh-Wake Emergency Community Center is accepting comments as part of the process for reaccreditation. 

As part of the process for the emergency response center to keep its accreditation, it has to allow the public to comment, good or bad, about if it is meeting professional standards. The Raleigh-Wake 911 facility answers emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatches the appropriate first-responders. 

Accreditation is determined by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, also known as CALEA. The professional standards that must be met relate to organization, direction and authority, human resources, recruitment and selection, training, operations, special operations and homeland security, according to the Raleigh-Wake website

Residents interested in commenting about the communication center have a few options. Those who want to comment by phone can do so on Tuesday, July 21 from 1-3 p.m. by calling 919-996-5097, the website posted. Community members can also provide comments via mail to:
