Serve on the Midwifery Committee: Call for physician applicants
The North Carolina Medical Board is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Midwifery Committee. If selected, the appointee would begin serving immediately and then start a full three year term beginning on November 1, 2020, and ending on October 31, 2023. At the completion of the first term, the appointee would be eligible to serve a second three-year term.
Applicants must be physicians actively engaged in the practice of obstetrics who currently supervise a certified nurse midwife(or midwives). The applicant shall have no public disciplinary actions with the Board or any other professional licensing board within the past 10 years. Committee members receive a per diem and reimbursement for travel and subsistence as provided in G.S. 93B-5.
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter expressing interest in serving on the Committee, a current curriculum vitae or resume, and two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant’s practice. Application materials should be submitted to: malinda.sink@ncmedboard.org. The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2020.
