Wake County Public Health announced on Mar. 26 that it will host the 2026 Teen Spring Kickback, a free one-day event for high school students, on April 6 at Urban Air in Raleigh. The event is designed to provide teens with a space to relax, connect with peers, and learn about making healthy choices.
The summit aims to address the pressures teens face from school, social media, and daily life by offering activities that support their well-being. Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings said, “Youth in high school are sorting through more information and pressure than ever before. This teen summit gives them a space that feels welcoming and real. A place where they can get trustworthy information, connect with their peers and feel supported.”
Led by Wake County’s HIV, STD & Hep C Community Program along with Wake County Child Welfare, the event will cover topics relevant to teenagers’ lives in an open environment. In addition to educational sessions, attendees can participate in games, music activities, food offerings, giveaways and other interactive experiences throughout the day.
The Teen Spring Kickback is presented by Wake County Public Health and Social Services in partnership with the Wake Partners HIV/STI Coalition. Registration is required due to limited space; parents can sign up their children at wake.gov/teensummit.
Organizers hope that events like this will help empower local youth by providing reliable information and supportive community connections.
