Wake County is inviting residents to review and comment on its draft Parks, Recreation and Open Space Comprehensive Master Plan, according to a March 17 announcement. The county said the plan was shaped over the past year with input from thousands of residents and community stakeholders through surveys, public meetings, and community events.

The updated master plan aims to guide the future development of parks, recreation facilities, and open spaces managed by Wake County. Officials say this final round of feedback will help ensure that the plan reflects the needs and priorities of the growing community.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took time to share their thoughts this past year,” said Wake County Commissioner Shinica Thomas. “Your feedback has been essential in creating a plan that reflects the needs of our growing and evolving community. Now we want to be sure we heard you correctly.”

Residents are encouraged to review the draft plan and complete a short survey about key recommendations, priorities, and proposed improvements. The draft plan and survey are available at wake.gov/parks/masterplan.

Feedback collected during this phase will help guide decisions about county parks and open spaces for years to come.
