Wake County announced on March 9 that it will hold an in-person community meeting to discuss the future of the Neuse North area in northern Wake County.
The meeting aims to involve residents in planning efforts and gather their input on development, land use, agriculture, and water quality. County staff from Planning and other departments will be present to answer questions and engage with attendees about growth-related topics.
“Community voices are essential to shaping Neuse North over the next decade,” said Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings. “We’ve heard thoughtful feedback about traffic, rural preservation and future development, and this meeting gives residents another opportunity to share what matters most to them. We encourage everyone to join the conversation and help guide the future of their community.”
The Neuse North study area covers 10,890 acres and is home to about 8,000 residents. It is situated between Wake Forest and Rolesville, extending up to the Franklin County line. This initiative is part of PLANWake, a comprehensive plan guiding county growth for the next ten years. The Board of Commissioners has already approved plans for Lower Swift Creek, Middle Creek, Lower Neuse, Western Wake, and Eastern Wake.
The upcoming community meeting will take place Thursday, March 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at Raleigh Family Moose Center located at 2824 Forestville Road in Wake Forest. Residents unable to attend can submit comments or questions by emailing areaplan@wake.gov or calling 919-856-6310 (option 8).
These area plans help determine what types of homes, buildings, streets, open spaces, farms, and infrastructure may be developed locally in the coming years.
