Wake County Public Health has announced that the 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine will be available at its health clinics throughout the county. Vaccinations are offered by appointment only, with the aim of reducing wait times and improving service efficiency.

Appointments can be scheduled at any of five clinic locations, which operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The updated vaccine is an important tool to help prevent serious illness as we head into the season of holiday gatherings and travel,” said Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings. “Getting vaccinated remains one of the best ways to keep you, your family and our community healthy.”

The new COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for individuals aged six months and older, with vaccination decisions based on individual circumstances.

Wake County Public Health recommends that people who are at higher risk for severe illness receive the vaccine. Residents are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider if they have questions about whether vaccination is appropriate for them.

To make an appointment, residents should call the direct phone number for their chosen clinic location. Those attending appointments are asked to bring their health insurance card, as most plans cover COVID-19 vaccination. For those without insurance, staff can provide information about possible no-cost options.

In addition to county clinics, most pharmacies and healthcare providers in the area will also offer the updated vaccine. Residents are advised to contact these locations ahead of time to confirm availability and schedule an appointment if necessary.
