Wake County Public Libraries, in collaboration with Advance Community Health (ACH), will offer free health screenings and resources to local residents from April to August. These services will be available through weekly visits at 11 library locations throughout the county.

“This partnership helps bridge the gap between residents and critical health services,” stated Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings. “We’re excited to grow this effort and make wellness more accessible to everyone in Wake County.”

ACH provides a range of healthcare services in Wake County, including primary care, pediatric services, nutrition counseling, behavioral health support, and pharmacy access. In this initiative, ACH will offer onsite A1C testing, glucose testing, blood pressure checks, and BMI screenings to help community members connect with affordable healthcare options.

This joint effort aligns with the Community Health Focus Area of the Wake County Strategic Plan and addresses access to care, a top issue highlighted by the 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment. The forthcoming 2025 Community Health Assessment continues to note the importance of this issue.

The program builds on a successful pilot that first brought ACH to Morrisville Community and West Regional libraries. This expansion includes extending services to 11 library locations from a previous five.

Locations offering these services include East Regional Library in Knightdale, Fuquay-Varina Community Library, Green Road Community Library in Raleigh, Holly Springs Community Library, Middle Creek Community Library in Apex, Morrisville Community Library, Southeast Regional Library in Garner, Southgate Community Library in Raleigh, Wake Forest Community Library, Wendell Community Library, and Zebulon Community Library.
