Four local artists have been announced as the winners of Wake County Public Libraries’ bookmark design contest. The selection process involved reviewing over 1,000 submissions from participants of various ages. A panel comprising library staff and members of the Wake County Library Commission chose the four winning designs.
“These remarkable designs reflect the creativity and love of reading found throughout our community,” said Wake County Commissioner Tara Waters. She added that summer is an exciting time at the libraries, and this contest encourages more community involvement. The initiative aims to inspire people to express their creativity and share their passion for reading.
The winning bookmarks will be printed professionally and distributed across all 23 Wake County Public Libraries during the 2025 Summer Reading Program, while supplies last. Each winner will also receive 20 copies of their design, a printed poster, and recognition at a special reception.
An online gallery showcasing honorable mentions is available at guides.wake.gov/BookmarkContest.
The Summer Reading Program begins on Saturday, May 31, and continues until Saturday, August 23. Further details will be provided soon. For more information, visit your local library or go to wake.gov/Summer-Reading.
